Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research. We support research into all aspects of cancer through the work of more than 4,250 scientists, doctors and nurses. Over the past 10 years alone, thousands of lives have been saved through earlier detection and improved treatments. But, much work remains to be done if we are to achieve our aim of beating cancer.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I'm training hard for the Great North run in October. I've never run a half marathon before so this will be a real challenge for me.

In 2003 I was treated successfully for Kidney cancer and I owe my life to the doctors and nurses who treated me. Every year Cancer research is making real inroads into the treatment of this disease and more and more lives are being saved through their efforts and your money.

Please give as generously as you can and I'll be sure to do my best for you on the day!

SEPTEMBER UPDATE

Thanks to all of you who have donated so far - its a fantastic start!

So the training has gone from horrible to bearable. I've now run over 100 miles and the equivalent of three times up Ben Nevis - thanks to a few of our local hills. Still plenty to do before the 5th October though.
