Recently we lost a well known and much loved member of our local community. Lucy Whitfeld lost her brave battle with breast cancer and passed away. Lucy was hugely family orientated, a caring friend and a loving wife; she will be dearly missed by all who know her and many that had the pleasure of Lucy’s touch in their life in some way. Lucy’s husband, Scott Whitfeld and seven of his and Lucy’s friends have decided to partake in the 2009 Flora London Marathon, to raise monies for Cancer Research UK, on a National scale, and for The Sunrise Appeal, a local Cornish Cancer Charity. 1 in 3 people are affected by 1 or more strains of 27 different types of cancer. In memory of Lucy Whitfeld, we want to help those who are fighting courageously with a constant battle of nerves, emotions, physical set backs, distress and more, and I’m sure that we all know someone that has been affected in some way or another. The members of Lucy’s cancer fundraising group are now partaking in several charity events to raise donations for the above named event and charities and we are looking for support at all levels Nationally and also from the local community, both on a personal and business level to reach a minimum target of £20,000. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor us now and thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
