My personal message:

As a lot of you will know, I lost my Mum to cancer in June 2008.  Mum was a
truly amazing lady and a real fighter and fought her battle with cancer until the very end.  I want to do something in her memory and raise some money for a very valuable charity so I have decided to enter the London Marathon.  Those of you that know me well will appreciate that this is going to be a difficult ask.  You don't get too many 20 stone marathon runners.
 
Training is well underway and I am determined to complete the race and show
the stubbornness and determination that Mum did as she fought her battle so
valiantly.  We all miss her terribly but if I can do something to make her
proud and also help Cancer Research with the excellent work that they do,
hopefully one day they will find that much needed cure.
